Kalinga College of Commerce, a leading residential commerce college in Bhubaneswar, was established in 2005 under the Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Odisha. The college is affiliated with Utkal University for the +3 Bachelor's Degree in Arts and Commerce (B.Com Hons) program, and is also recognized by CHSE Odisha to provide +2 Commerce education.
Utkal University, established in the year 1943, is the seventeenth oldest University in India. Its present campus at Vani Vihar, Bhubaneswar, is located on a sprawling approx. 400 acre area. The foundation stone of the campus was laid by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India on January 1, 1958 and the campus was inaugurated by Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, the second President of India on January 2, 1963. Utkal University is a teaching-cum- affiliating University.
